I am not working in Finance but my acquaintances do. This is what they had to say.

In investment banking divisions of bigger banks like JP Morgan,Merill Lynch and Deutsche bank,they do not recruit CAs. For recruitment there you have to have an MBA from Tier 1 B-School. They also take CFAs.

For consulting firms (like Accenture consulting),you need to have consistent academic record with good grades throughout.
