For determining value of property as on 01-04-2001 for LTCG calculation can we take indexation(old) for the year 2001 and can determine purchase cost for old property
please advice.

You have to find out the Value of Said property from GOVT registered Valuer or from registrar office as on 1/4/2001 for Calculation of Capital Gain if property purchase before 1/4/2001, and you have take Indexation new starting from 1/ 4/2001 if you are selling property now .
