Sir I had purchased a land which was compulsorily acquired by NHAI for their expansion project. They had issued compensation. We went for an appeal with the respective authority and obtained another amount as compensation. How to compute capital gain tax . Both the cases it is a long term capital gain. Could any one help to clarify the computation.

You have to take the total compensation received (initial + additional later), deduct your (indexed) cost price and expenses and compute LTCG.
