Respected Members,

I have sold a Property and Realised Capital gain in December 2024.

I want to deposit this gain in capital gain Scheme Account this year.

The due date for the ITR was 31 July 2025. but it was extended to 15 Sept 2025.

So if I open account today as on 13 sept will it be considered within Due date or Not.

Please help.

Yes, you should be able to open the CGAS account today or till 15th Sept 2025, the extended date.

But ensure that the Bank definitely opens the account same day, because, sometimes Branch does not have full authority to open the CGAS account and could send it to core office of the state, creating delay.

If passbook gets issued, means the account is started.

You had extra time still didn't open?

Check with indian bank they give CG account faster same day itself (confirm it)

If not check with IOB or BOB or SBI on moday

@ Vignesh K

Saurabh has to do it in the bank where the money is kept at the moment.

It is not possible to transfer millions(even by RTGS) huge amounts within a day.

So various banks options suggested by you may not be possible to use.

For my relatives we Open urgently,

We gave account opening forms Thursday evening (after 4pm) for both normal and CGAS account, in Indian Bank they said savings account will be done Today but CGAS will be opened 2moro bcoz working time over in main branch something.

Next day Friday at 10.30am something they activated the CGAS account and after 1-2 hrs CG account started working and we went to another bank to transfer the amount via RTGS and money credited instantly...

RTGS is for instant transfer only and upper limit,  if he can't transfer in one go, multiple RTGS in half hr gaps.

@ Vignesh K

Due to various scams and frauds, as per RBI instructions, PSBs do not allow transfer of huge amounts in a day, irrespective of one or multiple RTGS.

If your relatives succeeded, that was exceptional.

Let's wish all the success to @ Saurabh in opening the CG account in time.

@ Vignesh

For example, SBI will not allow more than 10 Lakh transfer out in a day. Other PSBs, including Indian Bank are even lower.

And I-T Dept wants the exact date when the total amount got credited, not just date of allocation of a CG account number.

The ITR form needs exact date of credit of the main amount in the CG account.

Some branches open the account even using cash payment of 1000/- but that date is not applicable finally. I know, Indian Bank does it.

Hope it is clear.

You are talking about Online RTGS? Online has Capping, I am saying about offline RTGS...

Ya for us we gave cgas forms on 10th evening around 4-5pm and next day 11th morning 10.30 they activated. They said if you had come around 2-3pm around 10th you will get account within 1-2 hrs..

They have to approved by some other main branch incharge, like that manager said..

And next day 11th we transferred via RTGS to CG account .

Sourabh want to open account urgently so I recommend Indian Bank due to experience..  I also enquired in bob, IOB and ubi they said CGAS account will take 2-3 days

@ Vignesh K

You and me are spending so much time trying to solve @ Saurabh Katiyar's problem.

But looks like @ Saurabh not even looking at this thread, after starting it !!!

So let's not waste any more time on it.

Yes even I checked his old posts, he post the query and went to ghost mode...

Lets end..
