I don't have much experience with taxation and e-filing. Recently, I filed ITR1 for a friend and due to phone number issue, she couldn't e-verify it. Now, if she doesn't want to post the hard copy of ITR V to IT dept but only e-verify it, is it possible to do it after the due date?

Yes, e-verification can be done after due date. But ensure to e-verify the return as soon as possible (probably within 120 days from filing ITR). e-verification can be done either through Aadhaar OTP or Net Banking. If there's an issue with the phone number, you can e-verify through Net Banking. Otherwise, post a physical copy of ITR-V to CPC Bangalore.

Yes, after submission of ITR you must e verify within 120 days. It would be treated as before due date. But don't make it as a habit.
