Can i swith from ITR-3 to ITR-1

For last two years i filed ITR-3 since i had losses from option trading. Last year(2023-24) i didn't do any option trading but only equity trading and have only short term capital gains (SCTG). Can i file ITR 1 this time?

Quick Summary
If you previously filed ITR-3 due to losses from option trading but now only have short-term capital gains from equity trading, you likely cannot switch to ITR-1 (Sahaj). ITR-1 is not permitted for filing if you have short-term capital gains. You may be eligible for ITR-2 if you haven't traded intraday or in F&O; otherwise, ITR-3 remains mandatory.

No, you cannot file ITR-1 this time. ITR-1 (Sahaj) not file in the case of STCG.

You can file ITR 2 only if you have not traded in intraday & F&O market, otherwise ITR 3 is mandatory.
