For last two years i filed ITR-3 since i had losses from option trading. Last year(2023-24) i didn't do any option trading but only equity trading and have only short term capital gains (SCTG). Can i file ITR 1 this time?

No, you cannot file ITR-1 this time. ITR-1 (Sahaj) not file in the case of STCG.
You can file ITR 2 only if you have not traded in intraday & F&O market, otherwise ITR 3 is mandatory.
