how to identify direct and indirect methods.

indirect method is always easy to go. To identify the method just read AS-3 throughly. Its not so tuff.

As i said, plz search for financials on net. Go to company webiste instead, on investor relations section. Select any good company- like infosys, reliance industries etc.

Look if credit/cash sales and credit/cash are given in the problem then that prob is of direct method otherwise of indirect method...

and normally in problem of direct method gross profit is also available.. (Sales-COGS)

its very simple....
