The effect of the amendment is that if you wish to claim a deduction under Chapter VIA under the heading 'C-Deductions in respect of certain incomes' for eg claim for deduction u/s 80P then you should file the return of Income on or before the due date specified u/s 139(1) of the Income Tax Act.
