DEAR ALL Am a final student (oldscheme) and am in the last 4 months of my articleship.......Due to some serious personal and unavoidable commitments in the coming october and november 2009, i couldnt give my Final exams.. So am am planning to write the final exam in MAY 2010 and start preparation from now... Am confused to start with old materials and syllabus or to buy new materials and new books? EARLIER ICAI HAS EXTENDED THE PE 2 (OLD SCHEME) AND GTANTED FEW MORE ATTEMPTS for the candidates.....EVEN AFTER THE RESTRICETED LAST ATTEMPT THEY HAVE EXTENDED PE2 TO MANY ATTEMPTS..... LIKE WISE IS THERE ANY CHANCE OF BEING EXTENDED FINAL OLD SCHEME FOR FEW MORE ATTEMPTS FROM MAY 2010.....( AS OF NOW REGARDING THE ICAI THE LAST FINAL (OLDSCHEME. ) EXAM IS NOV 2009......PLS GUIDE ME FRIENDS......... will icai extend the final oldscheme TO MAY 2010?......pls give ur views...........

Your best bet would be to check with them.In 99/100 cases the answer is no.This is what I got to know from a Council member.But as you say, there is always a possibility for revalution of the decision.Maybe you and few other students can press them to reconsider the decision.
there are rumors that they are extending to may 2010.....................but u cant trust them without proper supporting notifications/ announcements
why you want to read old books/old syllabus - -wake up..... try for new and innovative... start with new syllabus

Nov.09 is the last attempt and it was communicated to students long ago.
it will be very unfair for the student appearing for the first attempt in nov.09 icai should look into the matter. it is not easy for any student to prepare twice in case he is unsuccessful in 1 st attempt
hey dude i think this november'09 is last one ........................................... so my attempt is also in november'09
hence i m not thinking about this full concentration is giving on my study.
