I am giving my CA FINAL November 2013 exam. I want to know in direct tax and indirect tax paper how are we suppose to write the case law. For eg. CIT v. Madhukumar N. (HUF) (2012) 208 Taxman 394(KAR.). Please tell me in exam how to write the heading of this case law. Please reply asap. Thank you.

madhukumar N v/s revenue so your target should be remember other party name .

If you write CIT Vs Madhukumar N 2012 (kar) will suffice. We are not supposed to memorise it completely. But the year when case is decided and the name of state should be mentioned. All the best
