You will be eligible for CA-Final exams after completion of 30 months/2.5 years of articled training.
.
Obviously you need to pass G2 of CA-IPC to register for CA-Finals but any delay in passing the same won’t further delay your Final exams.
.
So, the sooner you pass G2 of CA-IPC, the more time you will get to prepare for the Finals.

Yes so I can register for articleship now itself and give the exam after 2.5 years? That's all is required to write it right?

To register as an articled assistant, one needs to pass at least G1 of IPC, OP & ITT.
.
During 1st year of articleship, you should complete GMCS-I.
.
To be eligible for Final exams, you must complete IPC in its entirety, 2.5 years of articleship and Advanced ITT course (applicable for students registering for articleship on/after 01.02.2013).

.
After completion of 18 months of articleship but before completing the same, you need to do GMCS-II.
