Dear Sumant,

Here Swami Vivekananda tries to explain that the Maya (i.e. the illusory energy of God that makes a jiva feel that he is the body) compels every jiva to succumb to vicious flaws like enmity, deceit and lie; but it takes tremendous amount of will power (here, soul power) to rise above the bodily consciousness and to become equanimous in all situations.
