We are from Chennai received order from Gurgaon customer for their Chennai project and requested us to bill to Gurgaon account and ship to Chennai. Customer having TIN numbers for Chennai also. Now please let me know what is the billing procedure for this transaction, Is VAT applicable or CST??

As I understand, since there is no movement of goods from one state to another, CST cannot be charged. Moreoever, it would be beneficial for the buyer if the transaction is considered as local sales as VAT credit can be availed.
