Quick Summary
Usual practice is to use new number at the beginning of every FY for easy identification purpose.
As I understand, it is not mandatory and you may continue the existing series if you wish to. Just ensure that the numbers are unique (i.e. no duplication)
It's upto you which number series you want to continue in next year
