Supreme Court dismissed appeal filed by BCCI against CESTAT Mumbai's order in Aug'14 in which CESTAT held that the activity of producing audio-visual coverage of ‘Indian Premier League’ cricket matches held in India by non -resident service providers would be liable to tax under ‘programme production services’ and BCCI was liable to pay tax under reverse charge mechanism.

Therefore, the service tax liability of over Rs. 18 crores, interest & penalty thereupon would be required to be paid by BCCI.

For the sake of convenience, the said order of Apex Court has been enclosed herewith.
