Big 4 vs Medium firm

Medium Firm as in big4 u get restricted in only 1 area

may any cci member provide me e-mail ids of big 4 's hr deptts

Hey i personally feel mid size firm

not just bcoz i work in a mid size firm but with an average view

now theres a diffrence between a mid size and small firm

a mid size firm will have  minimum of 4 partners

the firm i work in has 4 partners and 2 c.a 's

we do audits of various types of clients including 3 public listed companies from different sectors ie service , logistics and manufacturing

unlike the big4 in mid size u get exposure in various field as ive taken part assignments in all 2 companies...plus u get taxation matters also in ure hands which makes learning interesting

and as far as pay in concernd i get 6k per month in my first year so dunt think dats so bad compared to big 4 where ull get a max of 8 k in the first year

HI FRIENDS,, I HAVE CLEARED BOTH GROUPS OF IPCC,, NOW I HAVE TO START ARTICLESHIP TRAINING..

PLZ TELL ME THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SMALL SIZE FIRMS AND BIG4? WHICH IS PREFERABLE ?

SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT IN BIG 4,, WE WILL GOT TO  LEARN ONLY IN ONE DEPARTMENT,,,,,, WHILE IN  SMALL FIRMS WE WILL LEARN IN ALL FIELDS .......  

ALSO,THERE ARE HECTIC WORKING HOURS IN BIG 4 AND VERY LESS TIME TIME FOR FINAL STUDY..WHILE IN SMALL FIRMS THE WORKING HOURS ARE NOT SO HECTIC AND WE WILL GET TIME FOR STUDIES ALSO.

IS THIS TRUE?????

BIG 4 WILL GET GOOD EXPOSURE BUT IN ANY ONE FILED, MORE IT WILL BE IN AUDIT SIDE. MIDSIZE FIRMS WILL BE MORE EXPOSURE AND YOU WILL LEARN IN ALL FIELDS..

IN MIDSIZE YOU CAN GAIN MORE KNOWLEDGE IN ALL THE FIELDS,  WHERE HAS IN BIG 4 ONLY ONE FILED YOU CAN WORK AND LEARN SAME FILED..

IN BIG4 MORE YOU WILL BE IN TO MNC AUDITING, IN MIDSIZE FIRMS WILL BE MNC OR SMALL COMPANIES TOO..

MORE ADVANTAGE IN MIDSIZE FIRMS..

BOTH ARE GOOD IN THERE WAYS...

i have just cleared my IPCE-both groups in november,2010 attempt.Now am looking for articleship.

which of the two firms ; E&Y or Grand Thorten is better as regards to both avilability of time for studying and future career prospects ?i am confused between the two.
