Do we get an opportunity to change departments in Big 4? What would be a better option, taxation or auditing?
Thanks.

Thank you your article is very useful and informative.

Dear Sanyam,

In Bangalore, can you tell me which of the big 4s is better for articleship?  I am trying in PWC as well as in E&Y.

Hope to receive your reply soon.....

Thanks in advance...

What is scale of stipend ?

is it any requirement of clearing both group or % requirement

the manner and style in which you have written this article really shows

1) your professional

2) yet down to earth attitude .

I bet there would be anyone who won't get attracted to big 4 after reading this . You have given this a rather personal touch .

This can really be encouraging for a person who does not intend / fears how he will cope with melange of big companies and clients

Indeed impressive write up and I can personally say that i have enjoyed every word of it !

keep it up bro

Rohit

thank u so much sanyam sir.ur article has boosted my confidence.actually i was in search of such article as i have joined ey for articleship on the basis of merit as i got 18th rank in ipcc nov 12 exams.many people were making me afraid of big 4s.thanks again.jaimin vyas

a big4 is definitely the best exposure to the corporate world.

but i have heard that they make you work too much and that you dont get leaves for your exams and all.

is it true?

thanks sanyam........

ur msg is very helpful for me

but i have just submitted my resume in all big 4s but i dont knw when i will be called nd also whether i will be selected or not....

nd i hve a standing opportunity of joining G.D. Apte n co.. nd i hve to reply them within 2-3 days .....

i m in a dilemma now !!!!!! what to do!!! can anybody suggest??

Hi

Its an era of Specialization! and Big 4's certainly do train you to become experts in respective fields!

But, again even the small and mid sized firms train you to become excellent Professionals!

Its a matter of personal choice!

Its better to be a king of 1 than be a Jack of all!

Whatever field you choose, give your best and rest shall be taken care of! :)

hi, very helpful article. thanks.

i am applying for my articleship, and i am also wondering whether to join big four or a mid size firm. both have its pros and cons.

But with regard to flexibility for leaves during TYBCOM and CA FINAL exams, which would you say is better?

also i heard that sometime you get stuck with the same client for a year, so there will not be exposure to different industries, is that true?

which would you personally recommend?

I think,

We don't need big fours to become the best CA. What it needs is sincerity in your work, how responsible you are, clients you handled, size of client's business, remarks from clients that you have handled.

Even a small firm may be handling so many big clients - we can learn a lot there.
