i am calculating the gratuity 

he is covered under payment of gratuity act 1972.

Mr. umesh is retired from can & cans ltd on 11.09.2014 after servind the employer for 11 year 10 month at the time of retirement his basic pay was rs 27,000 p.m but it was rs 23,000 p.m up to 31.05.2014. The employee was getting darness allowance rs 4,000 p.m but up to 31.05.2014 it was rs 3,000 p.m The employer has paid him gratuity of rs 3,10,000 . Half of the dearness allowance forms part of the salary of retirement benifits. compute his gross total income in two situations for a.y 2015-16

As per book answer is Gross Saalry Rs. 2,51,752
