Firstly I am agree with Mr. Dhiraj's suggestion

Additionally, You may follow the following which generally CA Final student used to follow

1. Binod Gupta : it is around ten modules covering all the chapter, (easy language)

2. T.N Manoharan : u may choise it also

If u hv enough time to prepare then chose any of them including Singhania or paduka or follow dhiraj's suggestion

Anyone would always refer u to V. K. Singhania. This is best book for Income tax as i ever seen as far as CA exams are concerned.

So go ahead for V.K. Singhania. All the best dear

But i think that vinod gupta is too lengthy, my exam due is in may 2010,kya direct tax written by bangar is good.Please suggest.

 U can go for Vinod Gupta. Other books of Singhania & Manoharan are also lenghty . I have studied from V K Gupta only it is damn good book.

I would suggest see all the books & select with which u r comfortable.
