Dear Experts,

We are the small retailer, doing lubricant business in Bangalore since the year 2000. We have paid all the Vat Payment in time and returns also filed.

Recently we have received a notice from commercial tax department that, we have to produce the books of accounts for the FY 2011-12. Since we have shifted our shop for more than three places the purchase and sale bill copies are missed during the shifting.

Now the tax authority is saying that, if you are not submitting the books accounts we will freeze your bank account through court order.

Hence I would like to know that, which bank account can be freeze since we are having 3 bank accounts in different banks and while Vat registration Vijaya Bank account has been mentioned in the Application form.

Kindly clarify, whether all accounts will be freeze.

Thanks in Advance.

That is ultimate step......... court will not pass any order without hearing your plea.....

But, they can freeze all the accounts.....

Dear Mr. Dhirajlal Rambhia

Thank you for your reply. Now my doubt is that the department knows only one account, and how they will come to know other accounts and freeze them.

Actual process is the department requests court for permission to freeze all the accounts existing on that date (may be with other assets), along with request to get the information about all existing accounts. And court directs you to give required details on affirmation (i.e. on oath).
