Bank Account Update not working properly

Dear Experts,

I have already a bank account which is validated for Refund payment. Is it necessary to add other bank accounts on my name at the Income Tax portal?

Appreciate your kind advice.

Thanks & Regards,
Ram (Sr. Citizen)

Quick Summary
A senior citizen is seeking clarification on whether all bank accounts need to be updated on the Income Tax portal, even if one is already validated for refunds. Experts advise that while only one account needs to be validated for refunds, all bank accounts must be declared in the Income Tax Return (ITR) to avoid penalties. The discussion also touches upon technical glitches encountered when trying to update account details on the portal.

Not required
You have to mentioned your all bank account in your income tax return. For Refund, u have to choose one of them and validate that.
You will get notice if you don't report all your bank account details. You could be punished with fine and penalty!

I have given indeed given all my bank account details in the Income Tax Return .

My question is whether I should include all the accounts in the portal also (through the update)? I have problem with this - despite entering everything correctly the site is throwing errors!

It does not matter whether your profile has all accounts or not. Your ITR return for a particular year should contain all bank accounts. Once your return is processed successfully, it is deemed assumed that all the accounts that you filed in your ITR will appear in your Profile on new portal.
