Audting without firm name

CA 971 views 2 replies

Hello,

I've got my membership number with ICAI and I've already applied for Certificate of Practice(COP). I'd got a letter saying that I've been alloted the COP but I don't have the physical copy of that myself as I couldn't attend the felicitation where they were going to distribute the same.

I'm an employee in a CA firm but I'm not a partner in any firm. I wish to audit a trust in my individual capacity. Can I just my rubber stamp which has my name and membership no. and audit the same? Or will I have to be a partner in a firm or open my own firm as a sole proprietor?

Any ideas on the above?

Hi Yash

You can do audit & sign also in your individual capacity. Please make sure that you have received the letter from institute about your allotment of membership and COP. You can also approch institute for the same.
