The main question they ask, for CAs who took more attempts is why did you take so many attempts to clear and what did you do during that time?

This is a combined list of challenging questions faced by my friends & me during Campus 2008.

1. How will u determine interest rates when there is no benchmark rate (eg LIBOR, MIBOR etc) available?
2. What thing in Finance excites you?
3. Wheer do u c urselves 5 / 10 years from now?
4. What prompted u to take CA as a career when u were 16 yrs old?
5. Have u achieved in the profession what u initially sought to achieve when u enrolled in PE-I?

As u can c, the question in campus were NOT technical. They could be catagorized in 3 distinct catagories, as follows:

I. Questions testing the real / base level understanding of Finance, and not just rattling off of facts, sections & formulae.

II. Questions testing ur attitude towards what u do (not necessarily work).

III. Questions testing ur resourcefulness. In todays financial world, no CA is expected to know everything under the sun which pertains to Finance. But a good CA must know where to find the information and have necessary aptitude of applying it.
