sir i have attemped all the 7 ques in ca-final nov 15 i have my certified copy when i see they are not evaluated the last ques and ignored it by saying it is extra. what can i do now suggest me Read more at: /forum/details.asp?mod_id=311362&offset=2

Dear Deepak,

My all empathy with you.

Unfortunately we do not understand that CA is an exam where we are supposed to be consice and perfect. When we are given an option, we are suppossed to answer the one which we are most confident. ICAI was liberal in earlier years to consider the additional answer and then award the marks for the answer where you have scored highest. However, I feel, ICAI has now stopped the said practice and considers the answers written in the order by you. So last question will not be evaluated saying additional answer. What all I can suggest you is, you may continue writing additional answers, however you should first write only those answer where you are assured of scoring higher than other answers (because ICAI may change its evaluation policy any time, hence why to take chance!).

For E.g. pattern is Q1 (a),(b),(c),(d) - Q1 compulsory

Any five out of Q.2 to Q.7

Then from Q.2 to Q.7 you should write in an order, you feel you will score more.

Sometimes a common mistake done by students is that they just write a quetsion number and 2-3 lines and then leave it. Then write an answer which they have written really well. In this case the earlier answer only will be considered. My advice would be that before last bell rings, you should cut those trial answers so as to get the next answer considered.

I hope, this piece of advice will be of some use to you and other students.

i want to know the ICAI evaluation policy, if any changes

because i confirm that earlier policy was best five answer

from where i will got Evaluation policy

I think they do not make any communication in this regard. It is always at their discretion. It seems that in last attempt it was changed, as it has happened with many students.
