AS 30 application in FINAL

Dear Sir,

This has reference to the application of AS 30,31,32 asked in Advance Accountancy Paper 1 of CA Final (Old Course) vis a vis the announcement made on 29/04/2010.

The student community as a whole is deeply upset by such action of the institute. It has straight away cost 14 marks. The language used in the announcement clearly says that students are required to be conversant with the concepts like types of assets, definitions etc. and through study of the same was not required which means that only basic level is important and not the application level. Further by the date of an announcement, the paper of accountancy must have already been set. So it was within the knowledge of the institute about the questions asked. Then the big question is Why the institute made such an announcement????

Hence my request to the institute is to verify the papers of accountancy after considering the above fact and award marks in ratio of the marks scored out of 86 marks (i e 100 less 14 )
