Articleship Work in Big4

Well in big 4 the work is very different  people work differently. It might be the case that the vouching part is very less compared to the small firm but the vouchers checked is so in detail that it is like a post mortem of a body every minute detail is checked.

Before starting the audit, before planning the thing which is seen is the risk covered in that audit and then after the work team, audit plan and deadlines are attached to it. Poeple in Big 4 always work with a specific dead line.

Thanks Mr. Darsh*t. Are you pursuing your articleship in any big 4 ?

During the beginning of your articleship u will be made 2 work under you seniors.....and then after sometime,when u will gain experience and knowledge, u will be given an independent area 2 handle......

as far as the level of vouching is concerned it will depend on area to area or audit to audit

In small or mid size firms you may get to work in all areas whereas in big it is not the case, you may find some exceptions though.

Roles are clearly defined, instructions are well communicated.

In the beginning, you may be given those areas which are not much exposed to risk (based on the firm's study of its clients).

Slowly more responsibilities start coming in. You will get to visit lot of places, and hospitality will also be good.

When I was in small firm, I used to feel jailed. In big 4, you have some degree of freedom.
