Articleship work in Big 4

i will be joining one of the big 4's in a month... so i'll update this space as soon as i have experienced the work atmosphere there,,,,

Are u confirmed or put on hold ? i had my interview in KPMG in December but still am put on hold . They neither rejected nor selected me. They say they still need some time.

plz let me too know.... i would also like 2 work in any of big4's....

pls could any one say me about how the interviews will be in the big 4?what all are the area i need to prepare for it?

M doing articleship from PwC. As such truely saying expenriance in Big 4 is marvellous but something due to overpressure and shortage of time it became quiet hectic to work. But as soon as you overcom it you feel like being in heaven.

Interview in Big 4 is same as normal interview. I think the only difference here is it is held in 3-4 stages.

In Big 4s most of the times the workload is very huge and sometimes you may get free in time. But here only professional work has been taken from you and you will not be suffer from the work which is very much different from your line the work taken would be  upto your deserving. But your studies  will be get disturbed always due to late night sittings but i cant say that it cant be manageale one can manage by make his proper routine. another reason of this you never have a same senior throughout your journey it will get changed frequently & he may not be familiar with you & might not understand your problems so that he always wants to take lot of work from you. They have a addict to work late nights.

I am a CA Final student working in KPMG(Audit - Financial Services). I really think it is a myth among people that working in Big4 means sittin late nights,workin on weekends everytime etc. etc. I have got the opportunity of working as a Stat auditor for ICICI bank for the June quarter. I was also on Reliance AMC and Reliance money and let me tell you the work here is very good. You will get great knowledge here as you will be able to really connect to whatever u have learnt in Auditing in PCC. Only on quarter endings, u will have to work for late nights, but thats just 15-20 days in a 3 month period. Your studies also do not get affected. My CA final attempt is in Nov 2010 and I am pursuing CFA(Level-I) december. My manager has approved a leave of 1 month. Big four(at least KPMG) is not what they are portrayed to be. We in financial services normally work till 6 or max 7-7.30 during normal days and 10-12 on quarter endings. U will get an in depth knowledge about banks, MF's, PE's,VC's etc. Working in a big firm really has an impact on ur personality. However, there are many of my frnds in manufacturing services who work till 10pm normally. All in all, I am really happy that I joined fin services in KPMG. Going thru the interview is a bit tough but if u hav confidence u will have no problem. If any one is inerested in joining then feel free to contact me.
