you have to pass group 1 to start your articleship. you cannot start articleship before passing group 1.

passing both groups is not mandatory.....but passing group 1 is compulsory.

agree with amar......... only passing 1st group (composed of 4 exams) is requisite for Starting with Articleship Training.......

Final attempt is due only after completion of two & half years articleship out of three years.

So joining after passing grp 1 is better then waiting for 2nd grp also.
