Conversion To IPCC :

Dear,

Iam a PCC student in my 23rd month of articleship out of the 42months and have registered for this november 2010 PCC exam but due to a very unfortunate personal issue, Iam now unable to write my exams..

I have now decided to convert to IPCC and terminate my articles and write the exam in May 2011..

I have a few doubts for which i would be very thankful if replied..

1.Since I have registered for nov 2010 pcc exam, am i eligible to apply for conversion to IPCC now or am I allowed only after the results of the nov pcc exam is announced?

2.So If I terminate my articleship and apply for IPCC conversion will it be accepted?

3.What is the minimum time duration between "termination" and "application for conversion" allowed by the institute within which I have to act..?

4.Is the "Orientation Programme" mandatory for student who converted from PCC to IPCC..?

I thank you in advance..

As per my view PCC is much easier than IPCC......

So complete your articleship and go for May 2011 attempt for PCC and not for IPCC.

It is becasue you are familiar with the PCC subjects and syllabus and you would be confident of all the subjects but as in case of IPCC you have to start first comparing the subjects with PCC.

My advice to you is you should go for PCC in May 2011.

ALL THE BEST

.Dear vidhya, ur position is just as similar as i was before may10 exam. I have taken coversion frm pcc 2 ipcc after may 10 exams. Yes u can convert to ipcc after exams and before results even if u have given exams. I m sayin so coz i have did this. U can take termination and register for ipcc on same date or after d date of termination. But u can't take termination after conversion. U can register for orientation as u register for ipcc. Don't worry u will complete ur orientation before exams. If u want any other info u can mail me at. Draikwal @ gmail.com ...............

Dear Dinesh, Thanks for your reply..I also came across a icai announcement where it has been stated that students who convert to ipcc from pcc are exempted from taking the orientation program..Pl find the attachment for the announcement stating the same.. the rule is the same now as per the announcement or has changed is what am so unsure.

thx for the info vidhya i was not aware of that notification.

there is nothing in that notification that says this is applicable only for nov. attempt or this is for the student converting before some date.

as per my view this should be applicable for everyone who converts ti ipcc.

u can contact icai for confirmation.

and this a gud notification for u now u don't have to undergo orientation course also.

so what u have decided u r converting to ipcc?

Yes dinesh.. Even though I was advised by many seniors to continue with PCC itself, I have decided to convert to IPCC.. Because I feel that atleast in IPCC I will have enough time to prepare rather than PCC where I will have to go for articleship..

vidhya if u have  decided.

i wish u best of luck.

but just give this pcc attempt u have filled exam form na ?

i am planning to write the pcc exam too this time..but i will not be able to expect a pass or even fair marks..

don't worry about the marks just attend exam with calm mind. and who knows u could exemption in a subject or pass one gr or both. u can take benifit of exemption in ipcc also.

oh ! I was not aware of that dinesh.. ! So is it possible to claim PCC exemption in IPCC too ?

Can you clarify me whether an exemption is given for a subject only if the student appears(not absent) for the remaining subjects of that group.. That is for example,

I attend and score 61 in law paper whereas i was absent for the accounts and auditing paper, in this case will the exemption be considered dinesh..?

i don't know about absenting from exam but if u give all exam of a group and get above 60 in a subject u will get exemption.

try to get a exemption or try to clear a group u will get exemption of all subject  of group in ipcc if u passed a group.

thanks dinesh for your inputs and good words...

wish you all the best..:-)

thank u vidhya and all the best to u too. and if u want any help feel free to mail me.
