I am an IPCC student registered through Direct entry scheme.I registered for articleship from 10th July 2017 onwards.It's being more than 9 months in May 2018.
Whether I can appear for May 2018 IPCC examinations?

No, because of your 9 months complete april 18 and for your first attempt exam of ipcc you are required to minimum 3 months of exam preparation leave before start the exam.
So, you will be appear nov 18 ipcc exam
