Also are we allowed to file returns for AY 22-23 without filing AIS ?

Quick Summary
AIS is generated on the basis of information related to a taxpayer like 26AS. In other words, taxpayers themselves don't file AIS.
Yes, you may file return without AIS but later if any discrepancy w.r.t.AIS, then we have to revise return. Extra work in this case.

first an assesse is supposed to file returns after the end of the relevant previous year.After the end of relevant previous year the due date is there. Returns are filed. Datas are automatically updated in 26AS.in case the datas are not updated. We can raise an intimation to the AO.
