My client is having agricultural land and getting income out of it, during the previous year she earned Rs.3.5 Lakh, She does not have any other income. Whether Income tax return needs to be filed for Agricultural Income, if yes Please let know the ITR form No.
Agricultural income is exempt from income tax U/s 10(1) and it does not enter into the computation of gross total income. No need to file the return as her gross total income does not exceed the basic exemption limit.
But please can you explain from what activity this agricultural income has been obtained?
IF THE ASSESSEE DOES NOT HAVE ANY NON-AGRICULTURAL INCOME THEN NO NEED TO FILE RETURN EVEN IF HE/SHE IS HAVING AGRICULTURAL INCOME OF ANY AMOUNT.
BUT STILL I AGREE WITH MR. GOPALKRISHNAN THAT DETAILS ARE REQUIRED AS TO WHICH TYPE OF INCOME IS MR. SRINIVASAN TALKING ABOUT AS INCOME TAX ACT HAS SOME PROVIONS OF COMPOSITE INCOME TOO.
SO MR. SRINIVASA KINDLY PROVIDE THE DETAILS OF INCOME YOU ARE CLAIMING A S AGRICULTURAL INCOME.
