Advance tax - bank fails

Hello folks,

Its been a while... I have a critical case.... My friend has paid Advance tax through SBI. But the bank has submitted the money with my friend's name with a different person's PAN Number... Now department has raised a Demand notice with Interest.... 

Bank says they can't help it.... Please advice... 

We have sent a manual explanation, but dept rejected saying since we did e-filing we have to reply electronically....

You shoud go to consumer forum, this the only way............... Income Tax Department is right on there point.

 

THis issue is with your client & Bank not Client & Department.......

 

Just give in writing to Bank & Say that u will go to consumer court. Hope they will solve your problem.

Give copy of ur letter/mail to Bank's Chairman for fast action. If it is the mistake of Bank,they have to compensate u.

You are required to prove that it was a mistake committed by the bank. And write a letter to the bank CC to IT that a tax demand cannot be made on him because he has made the payment but the bank incorrectly registered in the wrong PAN. 

The proof you have of the bank's mistake must be concrete.

you have the challan copy bearing banks stamp (if manual) . ask the bank officials to clarify and ratify their act
