Adjournment of Board meeting

Hi all,

Can a Board meeting be adjourned? 

If it can be adjourned, what is the procedure and what is the effect in minutes?

The purpose is I have given a resolution to somebody but I did not create attendence, minutes etc.,  Therefore, I would like to adjourn an existing meeting to the resolution date and and insert the minutes and take the attendence in the same page with heading "the meeting is adjourned to so and so date".  Is it in order?
