Additional Trade name and Notice seeking information

I have ONE gst registration (proprietorship) of Manufacturing unit 1 (principal Place of business) and one additional unit also mentioned on GST registration for unit-2 ,

I wish to add one additional trade name so that unit 2nd business can be done with this additional trade name,

I have ammended Core field and added Additional Trade name on GST portal

In reply of ammendment application i have received "seeking additional information/clarification...." and the officer need following information

"Principal Place of Business - Document Upload-Others (Please specify) - amendment is not visible, no
blue highlighted area visible"

I can't understand what they want and and also please suggest how i can reply (No option is there on GST portal)

This kind of “seeking additional information” request is common on the GST portal, especially when officers want proof that the additional trade name is valid and linked to your principal place of business.

What they are likely asking for:

A document to prove the additional trade name at the principal place of business.
Since your amendment for “Additional Trade Name” isn’t showing clearly in the application, they want some official proof or a document explaining the change.
This could be a Board Resolution (if applicable), a letter on your letterhead, a rent agreement mentioning the trade name, or any other supporting document showing that the new trade name is being used at the principal place.

How to respond:

Check your amendment application on the GST portal carefully. Sometimes the “blue highlighted” area means the change made is not properly saved or visible in the form submitted.
If no option to reply online:
- Use the “Communication” or “Reply to Notices” option in the GST portal to upload a scanned copy of the supporting document.
- If that option is not visible, you may have to visit the local GST office physically or send the documents by email (if email is provided in the notice).
Prepare a simple covering letter mentioning that the attached document is proof of the additional trade name linked to the principal place.
If no option to upload on portal and no email provided, call your local GST helpdesk or GST officer for instructions on submission.
