Quick Summary
This discussion explains how to reconcile dollar accounts with Indian Rupees (INR) by creating two specific ledgers: Exchange Difference Gain and Exchange Difference Loss. These accounts, posted under Indirect Income and Indirect Expenses respectively in the Profit & Loss account, help manage and record fluctuations in exchange rates. The process ensures that both gains and losses are correctly accounted for and transferred to the P&L, providing a clear daily closing balance.

Create two ledgers to tally Dollar with INR
1) Exchange Difference Gain A/c , under Indirect Income, P & L A/c

2) Exchange Difference Loss A/c , under Indirect Expenses, P & L A/c .

If any Gain in exchange difference, credit to profit and loss A/c , any Loss in exchange difference debit to P&L .
Exchange gain or loss to be transferred to pl account.
