80tta deduction on payments bank interest

332 views 3 replies

Hello,

Airtel has launched its Payment Banks offering 7.25% interest p.a. More Payments Banks are about to follow as RBI has also given license to Reliance, Paytm, etc. that means more competition and higher interest rate could be a possibility. I was wondering whether the interest earned in a payments bank will qualify for Deduction under Section 80TTA of Income Tax,1961 ?
