Hi All,

I have paid Rs.52000 for Health Insurance in F.Y2017-18 26K for myself & 26K for my wife.

Can I claim 50,000 deduction in my ITR  undr 80-D or only 25K as I have paid for my spouse, not for my parents?

Thanks,

You can claim an amount upto Rs. 25000, for self ,spouse and children.
A separate deduction will be available if paid for parents.

However for Fy 2018-19 onwards you must pay health insurance separate for you and your spouse bank account, through which you can claim deduction in both individual assessee account.
you can claim only 25000

Deduction to the extent of Rs. 25000 is allowed.
