is it mandatory to claim deduction us 80c, if income is less than 500000?

Deduction us 80C will help you in reducing your tax liability and in getting refund if your net tax liability comes lower than TDS if any deducted.
so, you can claim deduction of 80C at whatever level of your income.

80c deduction is not mandatory in any case. But it would be beneficial if one claims deduction under it.
