Quick Summary
This discussion explores claiming tax relief under Section 10E for arrears received in the financial year 2021-22 that actually pertain to the 2020-21 financial year. The core question is whether a portion of these arrears can be claimed for relief if the entire amount appears on Form 10E, and if showing part of the arrear as income from a previous year offers any benefit. The consensus suggests that if Form 16 clarifies an amount as arrears, it generally cannot be altered.
