1 october: international day of older persons

Announcement 1324 views 7 replies

Today i.e. on October 01, 2012, entire world is celebrating International Day of Older Persons. It is a fact that in the present fast paced world, we are somewhere lacking to offer same support and love to old peoples around us that they had offered to us throughout their life.

Old people are largely dependent on their children for their financial and other needs and it is our duty to give them same love and security which they had given to us.

Yes, todays generation is so busy in their life that they dont get time to even greet their parents, my request to all is to please give some time to older persons because they put all their efforts in raising us and securing our future.

thank you sir for such a nice post

Thanx sir 4 sharing such a nice post..................

In our daily routine work we forget abt dem....................... In a day, we spend lots of tym by asking our friends/ Bf/gf  abt hw r dey or hv dey eaten food .... or anything  etc etc ......... but 4 a once also we dnt ask our parents or grand parents abt dem, have dey eaten food timely........... U rightly Said " it is our duty to give them same love and security which they had given to us."

After killing Kansa, Lord Krishna freed his parents Devaki and Vasudev from the prison. Krishna then bowed His head respectfully and said,

“Dear Father, because of Us, your two sons, you and Mother Devaki were always in anxiety and could not enjoy Our childhood and boyhood. It is with one’s body that a person can achieve all of life’s goals, and it is the parents who give the body birth and sustenance. Therefore, no one can repay his debt to his parents, even if he serves them for a full lifetime of 100 years. A son who is able to do so, but fails to provide his parents with the fruits of his labour, is forced to eat his own flesh after death. Dear Father and Mother, please forgive Us for not serving you.”

Thus, children of this age should bear the above words very carefully and serve their parents till their last breath like Shravan kumar.

I have great respect towards Ankurji also because he loves his parents and dutifully takes care of them. He is an ideal for all professionals like us. Even if we get married and  earn lakhs of Rupees, we should always take care of our parents.

Dear sir, It is also a fact that we,Indians respect our olders more than our western counterparts. There is a tradition of living separate from parents but fortunately its not in Indian families at large scale. Our culture is different from other countries. Except cases in Metro cities, our small towns, villages etc. respect them a lot. They/we don't need a particular day to remember and respect older persons.

Thats why i still proud to be an Indian.
