Procedure for export of Sesame Seeds

S.O.(E) In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992), as amended, read with Para 1.02 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-20, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment, with immediate effect, in Schedule 2 of ITC (HS) Classification of Export & Import Items relating to export of sesame seeds to the European Union countries. 2. The new entries at Sl. No. 68A and 68B shall be inserted in Chapter 12 of schedule 2 of ITC (HS) Classification of Export & Import Items as follows: Sl. No. 68A and 68B to European Union countries shall be permitted subject to following conditions:- (i) Indian Oilseeds & Produce Export Promotion Council (IOPEPC) is designated as competent authority to issue export certification. (ii) The IOPEPC shall issue export certification within two working days of receiving the request from exporter subject to a ‘Certificate of Analysis’ by a NABL accredited laboratory. (iii) The procedure for export of sesame seeds to the European Union countries has been outlined in the document ‘Procedure for Control of Contamination of Salmonella in Sesame Seeds for Export to EU’ which is available on the website of DGFT at http://dgft.gov.in/. 3. Effect of this notification: Conditions for export of sesame seeds to European Union countries have been notified.
