Ever since my financial planner encouraged me to file my taxes on my own, I've been doing so. The process has compelled me to read through tax laws, understand various sections and I've been filing my taxes on my own for many years. At times I do need to consult with a CA, and one such very experienced CA is quite impressed that I'm one of the few people who actually goes into a lot of details. I don't allow my CA to fill my ITR. I understand everything and fill ITR3 myself. There are however times when my CA has given me incorrect advice, and this forum of helpful people has been a boon for avoiding errors and for understanding tax laws.
