About me
My name is Subramanyam – I am just a B Com graduate. My experience is versatile and unique. Versatile in a sense it starts from credit control to marketing finance and then project accounting to cost control and from there developing systems and implementing them – then to the computers. IIM Calcutta initiated a certificate course in 1993 to teach computer based information systems – I was the student of that first batch and there I learned Lotus. So far the accounting software is concerned, my advise is that one should select the accounting package according to their business. Its not computer to go for branding – its business accounting which is most important.. Like you select a candidate for accounts manager – you have to see not the features alone but also how you can minimize the time when you want to see a ledger or bank book. My experience tell me that an accountant should project the company’s health condition minimum six months before any body can predict and warn the management. To do this you need not read balance sheet, you don’t have to be a professional. You will have to monitor the cash flow and costing.
