FAQ :
The instruction concerns the testing of imported food products at FSSAI notified laboratories and the designation of authorised officers.
The FSSAI has partially modified a previous notification and further notified FSSAI officials as Authorised Officers for the import food clearance process.
The new notification designating additional authorised officers is effective from 10th March 2021.
The jurisdiction of the newly notified authorised officers for import food clearance is detailed in Annexure I of the order.
The notification refers to Section 25 read with Section 47(5) of the FSS Act and Regulation 13(1) of the FSS (Import) Regulations, 2017.
