Seeks to amend Notif.No.42/96-Cus, dated 23.07.1996
NOTIFICATION NO 19/2010-CUSTOMS

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-item (6) of heading No. 9801 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), the Central Government, having regard to the economic development of the country, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 42/96-Customs, dated the 23rd July, 1996, published vide number G.S.R. 294(E), dated the 23rd July, 1996, namely:-
In the said notification, after serial number 37 and the project specified against it, the following shall be inserted, namely : -
“38. Monorail projects for urban public transport
39. Digital headend projects
40. Projects for the installation of mechanized food grain handling systems and pallet racking systems in ‘mandis’ and warehouses for food grains and sugar
41. Cold storage, cold room (including for farm level precooling) or industrial projects for preservation, storage or processing of agricultural, apiary, horticultural, dairy, poultry, aquatic and marine produce and meat.”.

Note.- The principal notification No. 42/96-Customs, dated the 23rd July, 1996 was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, vide number G.S.R. 294(E), dated the 23rd July, 1996 and was last amended vide notification No. 31/2007-Customs, dated the 1st March, 2007, published vide G.S.R. 128(E), dated the dated the 1st March, 2007.
