Section 10 of the Competition Act, 2002 - Terms of office of the chairperson and other members - Notified Term of office

NOTIFICATION NO. S.O. 869(E)

DATED 27-3-2009.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 8 read with sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Competition Act, 2002 (12 of 2003), the Central Government hereby appoints Shri Harish Chandra Gupta as Member of the Competition Commission of India with effect from 28th February, 2009 for a period of five years or till he attains the age of 65 years or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

2. The terms and conditions of his service will be governed by Competition Commission of India (salary, allowances and other terms and conditions of Service of Chairperson and other Members) Rules, 2003 as notified vide Notification No. G.S.R. 784(E), dated the 6th October, 2003 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, sub-section (ii).
