SC Circular regarding listing of urgent matters only w.e.f 22.04.2021

The Supreme Court has issued a circular stating that only urgent matters will be listed for hearing from 22nd April 2021. To have a fresh matter listed, Advocates-on-Record or Parties-in-Person must email a signed application with a one-page synopsis of urgency grounds to sc@sci.nic.in by 1:00 PM on weekdays or 11:30 AM on Saturdays. For Interlocutory Applications (IA) in pending matters or Miscellaneous Applications (MA) in disposed matters, applications should be emailed to an.sc@sci.nic.in with the same deadlines.

FAQ :

The Supreme Court will start listing only urgent matters for hearing with effect from 22nd April 2021.

Advocates-on-Record or Parties-in-Person should send a signed and verified mentioning-application along with a one-page synopsis detailing the grounds of urgency via email to sc@sci.nic.in.

Applications must be sent by 1:00 PM on working days (Monday to Friday) and by 11:30 AM on Saturdays.

These applications should be sent by email to an.sc@sci.nic.in.

Applications received after the specified deadlines will be processed for listing on the working day after the next to next working day, subject to bench availability and approval.

Matters for urgent listing will be considered as per the guidelines laid down in circular Number F.No. 9/Judl.(I)/2019 dated 23rd January, 2019.
