Rural Insurance data formats

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) is collecting specific data formats for rural insurance business. This is to help monitor performance and develop policies that promote rural insurance. Insurers need to submit data for the last three financial years, starting from FY 2017-18, by 31st March 2021. Additionally, data for FY 2020-21 onwards must be submitted annually within three months of the financial year's close.

Re :  Rural Insurance data formats

In order to monitor the performance of Rural Insurance Business and support the development of policy and regulation for promoting rural insurance business, it is necessary to analyses data pertaining to Rural Insurance. It has therefore been decided to collect data as follows:

4 Rural_D Rural Health and Personal Accident Insurance

You are required to submit the following:

1. The last 3 FY Rural Insurance data in the prescribed formats starting from FY 2017-18 on or before 31st March 2021.

2. Rural Insurance data in prescribed format for each Financial Year starting with FY 2020-21 to IIBI on or before 3 months of closing of Financial year.

FAQ :

IRDAI is collecting this data to monitor the performance of the rural insurance business and to support the development of policies and regulations that promote it.

The data formats are named Rural_A (Crop Insurance), Rural_B (Livestock, Poultry, Aquaculture, Insects and other Animal Insurance), Rural_C (Rural/Agricultural Property and Rural/Farmer’s Package Insurance), and Rural_D (Rural Health and Personal Accident Insurance).

Insurers are required to submit the last three financial years' rural insurance data, starting from FY 2017-18, on or before 31st March 2021.

Rural insurance data in the prescribed format for each financial year, starting with FY 2020-21, must be submitted to IIBI on or before 3 months of the closing of the financial year.

All non-life insurers, except ECGC, are required to submit the rural insurance data.
