FAQ :
The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) for a research study on individual indebtedness and insolvency in India.
Eligible applicants include institutions/organisations/agencies registered under Central or State Government statutes with at least three years of research experience, or UGC-approved academic/research institutions. Individual applicants with proven research expertise in the subject, who are either not attached to an institution or are retired from one, are also considered.
Research proposals can be submitted by 31st January 2021.
The research study is expected to be completed within a maximum of one year, though extensions may be considered by the IBBI under special circumstances.
The research should address aspects of individual insolvency and bankruptcy, including levels and categories of personal debt, sources of debt, debt servicing, the effectiveness of debt waivers, the impact of social welfare policies on debt management, the correlation between lack of health insurance and insolvency, and the effectiveness of bankruptcy as a solution to financial distress.
Eligible proposals will be evaluated by an Expert Committee (EC) comprising IBBI officials and external experts. The EC will assess proposals based on methodology, human resource requirements, and financial bids, and will make recommendations for selection.
